An Epic Beginning
In 2007, Carlos and Gricelda Medina embarked on a food ministry from their Fontana residence's garage. The primary objective of this initiative was to offer complimentary groceries every Wednesday evening. Initially aided by their children, Carlos and Christopher, the Medinas began dispersing 80 bags of provisions on a weekly basis.
Following persistent dedication, the Medinas' efforts bore fruit in 2012 when they secured a facility in Bloomington, California. Currently, their outreach extends to over 2 million individuals spanning the Inland Empire, diverse regions in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. The founders remain steadfast in their commitment to devising innovative methods to assist families from various backgrounds, extending a warm welcome to individuals and families in need.
Our Approach
The Vida Life Ministries International Distribution Center serves as a vital food source for numerous individuals and families within the community. Functioning as a local food bank, VLM undertakes the collection, preparation, and distribution of food to alleviate hunger.
In recent years, food insecurity has escalated due to the impact of the pandemic and rising inflation rates. Despite these challenges, VLM has been instrumental in providing emergency food boxes capable of sustaining a household for a minimum of one week.
With a monthly outreach to 48,000 families and 285 non-profit organizations, the distribution center exemplifies Vida Life's commitment to the community. Through its unwavering generosity, VLM has thrived in tandem with the local populace.
